Backstory Behind This Design
I’ve been working on a cardigan pattern for a while, and let me tell you, that thing and I are ready to fight. The design itself is completely different from where I started. I have frogged this thing so many times that I don’t even want to think about it. It’s just not turning out how I envisioned and I think it’s time to let it go. Safe to say, bare minimum, I needed a break.
I had picked up a few of Lion Brand’s Touch of Alpaca a while ago with dreams of a new triangle scarf. I get home from work frustrated about the cardigan and this gorgeous purple and gray yarn is just staring at me BEGGING to be a scarf. Let me tell you, once I started this thing I could not put it down. It was designed, crocheted, and I had the pattern wrote out in TWO days. I knocked this thing out.
It is such a mindless simple pattern that anyone could do. Never made a triangle scarf before? No need to worry. As long as you know how to double crochet, increase, and decrease, then you can make this scarf. Even if you’re not 100% confident in the color change, which I promise you isn’t hard. There’s a million resources to help – just ask youtube. You always have the option to make this scarf in a single color. Simply put, this is a perfect beginner pattern.
I’ve included the above chart with other color options you can chose from to make your own scarf in Lion Brand Yarn’s Touch of Alpaca. Click here to pin this color chart for later use!
– This Color Block Triangle Scarf uses nearly all of the two skeins of Lion Brand Touch of Alpaca it calls for. If you want to make a larger scarf, you’ll definitely need to get additional yarn. Even if you just want to add tassels or pom poms, you’ll probably need more yarn.
– Making this Color Block Triangle Scarf in a different size is super simple. All you have to do is add or remove rows to the first “increasing” half of the pattern & change the “decreasing” half of the pattern the same way.
